[A bit of history: This textbook was originally contracted with Wiley and Sons in the late 1980s. However, by the time it was in production, Wiley had sold its textbook titles to Macmillan which is why the book has the latter’s imprint. Macmillan effectively abandoned many of the acquired titles, doing little to market the work. Over the years the book (along with many other titles) was “sold” to other publishers and eventually ended up on Pearson Publishers as an “out-of-print” title at their web site.
